How to Preform Backup

Ensuring the safety and integrity of your data is crucial, and having a backup of your SmartSchool database is key. Regular backups protect against potential data loss from hardware failure, software issues, or human error. They also provide a way to restore your data in case of a disaster or security breach.

Here's how you can download your school's backend database:

  • Perform a backup at the end of every term to ensure your data is safe.
  • Generate a comprehensive Tabulation Sheet & Terminal Report for all your students.

We perform weekly backups, but it's important for you also to perform backups from your end to have your data readily accessible.

Follow these steps to download your school's backend database:

  1. Log in as Admin 
    Navigate to the Administrators Menu
  2. Click on Backup
  3. Click on Download SQL 
  4. Store the Backup file in a secure location and Rename the file with the Term and Year you backup (eg. 1st Term 2023 _ 2024)
